Attendees/Sponsors: How to enable/disable QR codes for lead scanning

Learn how to enable or disable the QR lead scanning feature for your attendees & sponsors.

To be covered:

Intro

The lead (QR code) scanning feature is an easy way for your sponsors and attendees to connect and save as leads the prospects they meet at the event. It empowers them to book a meeting, send other users a chat message with a single click, or add notes and save leads to connect later.

When enabling/disabling the lead (QR) scanning feature on the admin panel, you will enable sponsors to both scan their leads on the mobile app and store their contacts on their sponsor admin panel (sponsor.brella.io).

How to enable/disable this feature (Steps)

  1. Navigate to manager.brella.io.
  2. In the event details tab, check that you have it enabled on the event level (if you have it enabled, then the QR code button is visible on the apps for all, if not, then it's hidden for all).
  3. You can then enable/disable it on either group or sponsor level.
    1. If you enable it on the group level, that means that attendees in that group have access to scan and save as leads other attendees. Their stored leads will be visible on their apps under "Prospects" tab.
    2. If you disable it on the group level, that means that attendees in that group won't be able to scan and save as leads other attendees. If they try to use the scanning functionality, they will see the empty state saying that they don't have access to that functionality.
    3. If you enable it on the sponsor level, that means that sponsor reps of that sponsor have access to scan and save as leads other attendees. Their stored leads will be visible on their apps under "Prospects" tab and also in the Sponsor Panel under "Prospects" tab. In the Sponsor Panel they will also see the email addresses of their prospects by default.
    4. If you disable it on the sponsor level, that means that sponsor reps of that sponsor won't be able to scan and save as leads other attendees. If they try to use the scanning functionality, they will see the empty state saying that they don't have access to that functionality.

✍️ If the event is invite-only and the event organizer uses Brella QR codes on their event badges, sponsors can scan QR codes from the badges also, not just from within the Brella mobile apps. Read more about use of Brella QR codes for check-in and printing on badges here.

❗Also do note that sponsor level access precedes the group level. So if the attendee is in a group where lead scanning is disabled, but at the same time they are a sponsor rep where it’s enabled, then they will still have the lead scanning functionality.

Same works the other way around. So if the attendee is in a group where lead scanning is enabled, but at the same time they are a sponsor rep where it’s disabled, then they won't have the lead scanning functionality.
