Learn how discounts and promo codes work when buying tickets through Stripe for Brella.
To be covered:
You can use discounts or promo codes when purchasing your tickets through Stripe in Brella. Down below, we'll go over the difference between discounts and promo codes, as well as how to use them when buying tickets.
A discount code is a name Stripe uses to take a percentage out of the cost of a ticket in Brella (example: “Discount codes for sponsors”)
A discount code can be stacked with one promo code.
Promo codes are different from discount codes, in that there can be multiple of them added to different discount codes. These are normally shared by the event organizers.
As an example, you'd add the discount code, then the promo code. (ex. DISCOUNTBRELLA + PROMO). Also, Stripe allows adding some rules for the promotion codes.
How to use
Upon purchasing your ticket in Brella, you'll be prompted to enter a discount or promo code. You'll have to places to enter these upon completing your ticket purchase and registration. See below:
💡Keep in mind that it is not allowed to have multiple promotion codes with the same discount code. Check with your event organizer for more information!
- You can delete the coupon from Stripe - this will erase everything about this discount code from the Brella Admin Panel and the Stripe connected account and then they you recreate the same discount code again.
- If you just archive a promotion code within a coupon on Stripe or archive the discount code in the Brella Admin Panel, it just simply makes it inactive so your attendees cannot use it anymore, until you unarchive it.
